Stainless Steel Flat Products

Atlas imports, processes and distributes stainless steel sheet, coil and plate through the Atlas Specialty Metals business.

Atlas imports its stainless steel from a number of overseas steel mills. The mill arrives in coil form and is then processed (polished, cut-to-length, slit or recoiled into smaller coils) at Atlas Metals Processors (AMP). From here, the product is transported to the various distribution centres across the country.

Applications for stainless steel sheet and coil include automotive car mufflers, wine and food industry tanks and domestic household appliances and sinks. Stainless steel plate is used in more project oriented industries (e.g. oil and gas, petrochemical, transport) and typical applications include chemical storage tanks and coal and ore wagon rolling stock.
